Cinematography

Sometimes, it's fun to just be "one of the crew"... and not have all of the responsibility of running the whole show.

 

So a few years ago I started accepting some outside gigs as a shooter when they looked interesting. Unlike my company's projects, I typically didn't direct these (although I did direct a few of these). I would just hire out as a Cinematographer or a Director of Photography. Sometimes I even just shot B camera for fun. It's not about the money (although I do get paid). It's just a fun, non stressful way of seeing how everyone else are doing things. I still do this today when an opportunity arises and I find the project interesting.
